Senior Thesis Project
MyDesign is a project pulling together two semesters’ worth of research. The concept is an exploration of mycelium and its potential applications within the world of design, presented through the lens of an experiential and educational space.
For this project, select media and industry professionals will be introduced to and educated about the problems within the design world as well as learn about the biocomposite and its journey to what it has become today. MyDesign takes the work of the company Ecovative and uses its abstract and amorphous identity to create a visually engaging story. The event will focus on not only creating a visual story but allowing guests to see every aspect of mycelium and the ways in which it can be applied to different industries. Guests would be able to interact, engage, and fully immerse themselves in the world of mycelium, creating an experience that inspires the future.

The second half of the project involved building out a section created within the rendering to be displayed during and senior exhibition. Pulling from the design of the display table, this podium was made to display information as well as the textural elements of the material, creating a sensory experience for visitors.
